For
most, life is a winding road of challenges, some joyful, while others lead to
heartache and despair. Tara Isamu, a dancer blessed with grace and elegance,
lives a remarkable life. She sees her future as bright...but that all changes
in an instant, when a single act of violence steals her innocence.
Tara’s dreams are suddenly shattered, turning her emotions inward, where she
harbors a secret that has seemingly blemished her soul. She is left in darkness
until a chance meeting with an old friend opens the door to healing and love.
Aidan O’Brien and Tara’s relationship is borne of youthful affection and
tempered in the foundry of tragedy. Together, they walk a difficult path, one
that heals through understanding and acceptance.
So the Heart Can Dance is a love story, written with deep meaning for anyone
who has endured life-altering misfortune that leaves behind unseen, yet very
real scars. Read it as a celebration of the soul’s ability to overcome the
worst of life’s challenges. It will lift, inspire and breathe hope into the
most painful experiences, and teach us all...we can surely dance again.
Please Note: Throughout 2015 the author will donate 15% of gross profits to
RAINN, a national charity dedicated to stopping sexual assault and abuse.
Although this book is the second in the Hidden Beauty series, it can easily be
read as a stand-alone.
Jeff
finally has his life back on track after deferring his dreams so he could be
there for his family when they were stuck with a health crisis. As a lifeguard
and a law student, he is solely focused on graduating at the top of his class
and passing the bar exam so that he can help his mom and little sister.
In a blink of an eye, all of that changes when a beautiful redhead rescues a
little boy right under Jeff’s nose while he’s lifeguarding and challenges
everything he thought he wanted from the world.
Kiera, a former swimmer turned social worker is distraction he never expected
to encounter. She is smart, outgoing, witty, and vivacious and he is drawn to
her more than he could have ever imagined.
Unfortunately however, both Jeff and Kiera come with strings attached. . .
I have been lucky enough to live my own version of a romance novel. I married
the guy who kissed me at summer camp. He told me on the night we met that he
was going to marry me and be the father of my children. Eventually I stopped
giggling when he said it, and we just celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary.
We have two children. The oldest, is in medical school, and the youngest is
still in elementary school.
Presently, I’m a stay at home mom and I am working on several novels. I
volunteer my time to a variety of causes. I have also worked as a Civil Rights
Attorney and diversity advocate. I spent several years working for various
social service agencies before becoming an attorney.
In my spare time, I love to cook, decorate cakes and, of course, obsessively
compulsively read.
Sebastian called me his princess, but he
was far from my white knight. He was my drug. One hit and I was addicted to
him.
I ran from him to save my life. I kept running to regain my sanity. Kyle would
help me with that. His warmth and familiarity were just what I needed to
get back on track. Beautiful in his own right, Kyle was everything I once knew
to be good about the world. Kyle was perfect for me, he always had been.
Except he wasn't Sebastian, he could never be. The horrors of my past pulled me
away from him. The nightmares of my present would bring us back together.
Confused though I was, I knew Sebastian was the only choice. The damage done
was great, our love greater. Surviving each other would take everything we had,
but it was the only option.
Every mistake we had made would collapse on top of us, burying us alive in a
mountain of anger and guilt. Neither of us could have prepared for what was
coming. The only way out was through. The question became, would we be strong
enough to make it through together or would our secrets tear us apart once
more?
****I had the pleasure of beta reading this book, and it was one I was not so patiently waiting for after reading book one Run To You.***
This read continues on from the last and again you are hooked from the very first pages. A story of past loves and future loves getting entangled within the present.
Kyle makes more of an appearance in this read, and I love that he feels like he has come in to his own.
We find that Dani is very torn between one love that feels just like home and her rescuer. Another love that is exciting, takes your breath away and your hero. I mean how do you choose, Dani will make mistakes, that might or might not lead her to the right decision.
Sebastian, the mysterious alpha male, has some serious secrets, that we find are starting to unravel, he knows exactly what he wants and that is Dani. He refuses to give up in his pursuit of her. I feel that there are some very dark details that he has locked away so tightly.
Kyle, sexy rock star, now is 100% willing to settle with Dani, he loves her with all his heart. He wants to give her the world, and his love.
Let's not forget Geoff, Dani's bestfriend and rock, I love Geoff and I wish that I had a best friend like him. There is more action for him in this read and I for one am glad for it.
You will find that in this read you are most definitely taken on a roller-coaster of emotions, so make sure that you have the tissues handy. There are also sizzling sex scenes, that will have you so hot under the collar. This book has everything that you need in a read.
The plot and writing are exceptional, Kandice is well and truly coming in to her own, and I am loving everything that she is throwing at us.
This is one series and absolutely one author you need to watch out for.
I cannot wait for Book 3, I will not so patiently be waiting for this one.
* * ARC given on behalf of obsessed by books for an honest review * * This is the second bk in the run series and it just keeps getting better and better. We get to see more of Kyle and I have to am it I love him, now I'm a huge Sebastian fan ask anyone, but when I read this I gave a piece of my heart to Kyle. Danielle is one lucky girl, or maybe not but to have two guys love you it would be hard to choose because both are great guys. Sebastian is everything you could want in an alpha male , he loves hard and is loyal but can he give himself 100%, oh he loves Dani it's obvious but will it ever be enough. Kyle is part of Dani's past that she isn't ready to let go of just yet and I can see why. Kyle is a sexy rocky with an alpha side, he's always been there for Dani he saved her from her past , but he's ready to give 100% percent. How do you choose between the one who saved you and the one who's your saviour. Kandice does an awesome job with the words and writing. I felt every emotion and there's alot. I laughed, cried a bunch, and even cussed but I loved every bit of it. I will admit I was pissed at Dani cause it seemed she was having her cake and eating it to but how would you choose. I couldn't. This is a great story and I'm so ready for our next adventure with bk 3.
Kyle comes behind me and I grind my ass
against him. His hands run the length of my sides and down, as my hips gently
rock into him. His smell is so familiar that for a few minutes I allow myself
to become intoxicated by it. Turning, I look into his blue eyes as I sway
seductively in front of him.
“You’re trying to kill me aren’t you,”
he jokes.
“You’ll enjoy every minute of it,” I
reply, placing his hand on my back and rocking into him without breaking eye
contact.
He grips my bare back and lowers his
lips next to my ear. “It’s not nice to tease, Dani.”
Leaning my mouth against his jaw, I
whisper, “Who says I’m teasing, Ky?”
Fisting my hair into his hand, he lines
our faces together. “You’re always teasing, sexy. You love playing games with
me. It’s what you’re good at.”
“Haven’t you heard,” I ask, rolling my
tongue over my lips. “It’s my birthday. I’m officially too old for playing
games.”
He kisses me and I let him. I’m not sure
if it’s the alcohol, the atmosphere, the way that my sweat covered body feels
against his. All I know is that I enjoy it too much for someone who’s just had
her heart broken. My entire body melts against him as he works my tongue with
his own. The familiar pull of hot desire grabs at my belly and my nipples harden.
I consider pulling away, but I’m shoved to the side before I have the chance.
“Get the fuck off of her,” Sebastian
growls.
“Whoa! Chill,” Kyle replies.
“It would be wise for you to say your
goodbyes and walk away,” Sebastian suggests.
My blood runs cold when I look up at
him. His gray eyes are edging dangerously close to black. His teeth are gritted
and the vein on his forehead is visible. I watch as his flexed jaw clenches
with tension. This is why I can’t be with him. The demons that live inside
of him, fueling this aggression. I can’t be around it. I’m not safe.
“Let’s go, Kyle,” I say, desperately.
“No one wants any trouble.”
“You can’t be serious,” Sebastian
scoffs. “You’re not going anywhere with him, Danielle.”
He grabs my arm and I feel as though my
heart leaps into my throat. Remembering to focus on my breathing, I fight the
panic attack that I can feel coming on.
“Let go of me, Sebastian,” I reply.
“This isn’t the place for this.”
“You’re not going anywhere, but outside
with me,” he says, pulling me off the dance floor.
“I don’t think so, Black,” Kyle says. “I
get it. You screwed things up and now you can’t live with yourself. I’ve been
there, but this possessive bullshit isn’t going to happen tonight. Danielle
isn’t one of your properties. You don’t get to decide who can or cannot enter.”
Before I can say anything in my own
defense, Sebastian’s fist meets Kyle’s jaw. I scream for them to stop, but it’s
useless. Kyle stumbles a little before retaliating and hitting Sebastian on the
corner of his eye. Everyone around us comes to a stop. I can barely hear my own
thoughts as chants and screams break out from the crowd.
Run To You by Kandice
Michelle Young
Blurb:
I moved to New York for a fresh
start. I did not move here to fall for a
man like Sebastian.
Sebastian Black came into my life like a
storm in the peak of the night…dark, raging, all-consuming, and guaranteed to
leave destruction in his wake. From the moment our eyes met, he had a hold on
me. I wanted, craved, and needed him like nothing I had ever desired before.
The problem was he needed total
submission. From the moment he handed me the contract, I knew what he was
proposing would destroy me. What I had not planned was his ability to make me
crave destruction. I would lose myself in him. Sebastian knew how to take me
over the edge, and before I even knew it, I wanted to go freefalling.
It was evident that my past had the
ability to destroy us. What I had not calculated was the power of his to do the
same. My dark, brooding, impeccably sexual, alpha-male had his own crosses to
bear. I was not sure I was strong enough to handle them, or the woman who
helped chain him there.
I had the pleasure of beta reading this book and have been following Kandice all the way to Release Day.
This book had me from the first page, I was engrossed from the very first minute, of the very first paragraph.
Sebastian is a man, that has a hidden depth to him, and many secrets. He appears to be an alpha male, strong, and in control. Underneath though is a man that I feel is broken in some way.
Danielle is a strong woman and I really liked that in this book, as you rarely see many strong female characters. She will take no shit from Sebastian even though he has turned her world upside down.
You will find a romantic, sexy, and sizzling hot read, that will have your panties melting.
Kandice is a debut author and this book is simply amazing, she has immense talent and I feel that she writes from the heart. I didn't find any flaws in this book whatsoever. Yes there is a cliffhanger, but that simply has you wanting for more. I for one cannot wait to read book 2.
This is seriously one book that is a must read, and written by one author I feel will go far.
* * ARC received on behalf of obsessed by books for an honest review * * Omg it was reading fifty shades all over again, but way better. Sebastian Black is delicious. He likes control, but when meets Danielle and finds out about her past and realizes how he feels about her he let's some control go. My God this two are phenomenal together and the sex it's oh. This book has a cliffhanger so need to say I'm hungry for book two, like right now. This follows fifty shades a little but is totally different to. I just loved it. I was asked to read for honest review and I could honestly go on and on about how good this book is but it wouldn't do it justice.
Run to You is a new novel by Kandice Michelle Young. I didn't know what to expect going into this book. It was a great suprise for me it kinda of reminded me of 50 Shades of Grey. In Run to You we meet Danielle who just moved to New York and lives with her best friend. Danielle starts a new job at Princeton Enterprise Solutions. On her first day of working there at Princeton Enterprise Solutions she is called into a meeting with her boss. There she meets Sebastian Black.
When Danielle meets Sebastian for the first time they have a strong electrifying connection between each other. Sebastian asks Danielle to go on a date with him. On this date he proposes a contract for Danielle it is for 6 weeks to go out with him.
I really enjoyed Run to You it was very hot and steamy. Loved the characters and the story. I was hooked on the first chapter.
Such a sweet read. I loved everything about this book.
Dana and Logan are perfect for each other. The struggle of life are real and this book shows that in every way.
Will look for reads by this author. Very good writing. next book.
No spoilers here but this one is a must read. Such love and compassion and hopefully these two can work through things and make it together as one.
Kandice is…
…a serial lover of all things pink,
self-proclaimed chocoholic, home-schooling mother, and wannabe yogi.
Her debut erotica novel, Run to You, the
first in the series Run, is coming soon.
Kandi’s love of storytelling can be
traced back to her fourth grade year, when a history lesson on Native Americans
became too unimaginative for her liking. She took it upon herself to
liven things up by creating a story that was based on half-truths about a
self-named Indian Princess. Kandice is in fact of Native American heritage (her
great-grandmother was a full-blooded Cherokee) and in her own mind a princess,
so you can see where her inspiration came from. Her story was a huge hit
with friends, and an author was born.
Kandice was born and raised in rural
Arkansas, where she currently lives with her husband and three children.
Though, if you ask her she’ll confirm that her soul is lost somewhere on the
west coast waiting for the day that her body can re-join it.
